A few more games I'm waiting for...

These games are in addition to my previous list, and I'm pretty keen to give them all a try!

In no particular order, the new additions are -

1. Graveyard keeper
This game is based around a graveyard keeper who is determined to run a successful business, pretty much by any means possible, even if that may involve bending some morals a little to explore some questionable options, which others may frown upon. This game has a charming pixel style, and seems to be loaded with dark humor (my favorite). I really have high hopes that this will be a quirky, funny, and creative adventure that's a bit different from others.

Graveyard keeper trailer:

2. Sable
The visual style is what really captured my attention about Sable, and although not much has been revealed just yet, it looks like Sable could be an epic exploration game that evokes deep emotion as you cruise across the desert, explore ruins, and discover the mysteries that this world has hidden. This is another game I can't wait to get my hands on, I feel like it may have a similar aesthetic to Abzu, which is one of my favorite games ever!

Sable trailer:

3. Kynseed
A 'sandbox RPG adventure' game with a vibrant pixel style and an interesting premise. Kynseed stands out as a heartfelt adventure with lots of open world freedom, and an immersive story that pulls the player into the world and keeps hold though character development and deep connections to other characters throughout the story. With so much beauty and depth I feel like this is one that I want to play all the way to the end.

Kynseed trailer:

Just a short list this time around, but I feel like all 3 are well worth mentioning, and I remember reading that Graveyard keeper may be released this month, which is pretty exciting!
Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts about any of the games mentioned above, or if you know of any stand-out games that are not on my lists, comment with the details, I'm always on the lookout for promising new games! :D

Superfligh - a lovable wing-suite game.

If like me you are somewhat enamored with flight/gliding, then this game could fulfill some of that longing.

Take control of a floppy, surprisingly aerodynamic fellow and soar through procedurally generated landscapes, the closer you pass by rocks, and the smaller spaces you zip through without crashing, the more points you earn. Easy!
It's basically just about beating your high score, and your best combo, this is especially fun if you take turns with a friend and try to best each other.

I would recommend a controller to play, I haven't tried with a keyboard, but I think a thumbstick really helps pull off those super tight maneuvers.

This little gem is currently on sale until July 6 on steam, it's just $1.49USD for infinite gliding!

Take a look at some of my screenshots -

Fall with style guys! ;D

5 upcoming PC games I'm way looking forward to...

Hey everybody~ Time to talk about some games that could be truly amazing, I'm looking forward to trying these out! These will all be available on Steam, so if you like any, add them to your wish-list.
In no particular order, they are...

1. Ooblets
Looks like a casual Pokemon meets Animal crossing with Harvest moon elements type of game, sounds perfect to me. I really love the cute and quirky art style of Ooblets, that's something that always really stands out to me, and I'm psyched to see more and more developers experimenting with different styles. I'm super excited for this game :D

Ooblets trailer:

2. Mineko's Night Market
'A whimsical adventure/simulation game' set on a Japanese island overrun with cats, sounds too amazing to be real, but it's happening you guys. More beautiful art to be seen, and the promise of some unique and memorable adventures exploring the island and attending the weekly night market.

Mineko's Night Market Trailer:

3. Wytchwood
Play as the old (and adorable) witch of the woods in this beautiful crafting adventure game, collecting ingredients to brew spells in a land of fairytales and fables. Enjoy even more beautiful art and exploration as a witch with magic abilities. 2018 is shaping up to be the best year ever for cool games. :0...

Wytchwood Trailer:

4. Knights on Bikes
A HAND PAINTED ACTION ADVETURE GAME, 2 TOUGH GIRLS ON BIKES SOLVING MYSTERIES AND COLLECTING TREASURE. Amazing. Set on an English island in the 1980's, this game looks and sound incredible to me, and I cannot wait to play.

Knights on Bikes Trailer:

Lastly, but not leastly,
5. Tunic
Explore, discover ruins, fight ancient monsters, all as a little adorable fox, need I say more. Well I will also say that this game is visually beautiful, it has great atmosphere, maybe the only downside is the wait, this one isn't expected until 2019 :< but that's ok, because we will have quite a few others to play in the mean time. : )

Tunic Trailer:

There's actually 2 more games I have to add here, they're a bit different from the 5 above, but they look too good not to mention.
The first is called 'The Last Night', let me just say, cinematic pixel sci-fi thriller in a post-cyberpunk world. Yep.

The Last Night Trailer:

The second is 'Crossing Souls', a group of friends crossing between realms, fighting and solving puzzles. With more sweet pixel graphics, and based the year I was born (1986), you really can't go wrong.

Crossing Souls Trailer:

That's my list guys, drop a comment here with any upcoming games you feel are worthy of a top 5 list.

Minecraft seed + Screenshots

It's nice underwater...

Simple Minecraft seeds are always nice. The spawn point for this seed is a small island with a number of tiny islands surrounding it. Just off the north-east coast is the mainland; it begins as desert, follow the shore around to the left and you will pass through swamp and black forest, then the land sprawls out into pine forest, birch forest, & mountains.
There is a small herd of horses on the spawn island, along with some good cave systems that have plenty of coal and iron to get you started.

The seed is: -1542404230

Since getting my new PC I have been playing using Optifine, a wonderific shader that adds lighting effects, realistic water, movement to plants, etc. It adds so much life to the game, and creates a beautiful and immersive experience. If you have a decent gaming PC, I highly recommend giving it a try, it's easy to install, and you can find the download HERE.

As for resource packs, Jolicraft still stands as my preferred pack. Colours are harmonious, and it creates a sense of unity and belonging within the world, nothing looks out of place or ugly. It's a low pixel pack, which I find charming, and it doesn't add much extra load for your computer to process. Get Jolicraft HERE.

Ready for Minecraft 1.9!

Version 1.9 for Minecraft has finally arrived! We've been right into it lately, here are some Minecraft moments to get you in the spirit...

That epic moment when you finally find horses :'D

Foyer in an experimental house design.

Bedroom concept; green theme.

Taking in the sun... flowers. (This is my gf IRL)

Horses enjoy sunsets too.

GLIDING - YEAH BOI!!!

The texture pack I'm using in all these screenshots is Jolicraft, which I am urgently hoping is updated for 1.9 *fingers crossed*
Currently my preferred pack for 1.9 is John Smith Legacy, make sure you select the right version if you want to give it a try.

Game on everyone!

Minecraft Mushroom Biome Seed :D

I had that powerful urge to Minecraft (you know the one), so I decided I'd create a new world & go with whatever I got. Well, I haven't explored the land too much yet, but I spawned right within sight of a mushroom biome, brimming with mooshrooms.

If you'd like to check it out for yourself here is the seed: 6486146545815249245

R E A L L Y looking forward to Minecraft 1.7

I've been testing out the latest snapshot, & it's loads of fun! Some of the additions include; several unique new biomes, lots of new flowers, giant mushrooms are back, considerably larger mountains (with snow on top), more floating islands, etc, etc, etc.
...
I'm really looking forward to playing more once the official release it out :D
Till then, have some screenshots! -
...
...
...
 ...
 ...
...
The last pic is a new kind of dessert I think. They tend to be enormous, & often join onto sandy deserts, & yeah, they're made entirely of baked clay blocks! I affectionately call this biome, the redlands :)
...
If you want to try out the snapshot for yourself;
Open the Minecraft launcher, select 'new profile', name the new profile something like 'snapshot', then click 'Enable experimental development versions ("snapshots")', click 'yes' in the following prompt window, then save the profile.
Make sure the new profile you made is selected, then click 'Play'.

Minecraft - My huge texture pack list /[@▽@']\

Having learned this morning that version 1.3 is only 2-3 weeks away from official release (yay!) I'm feeling pretty Minecrafty, so I thought I'd compile a list of texture packs that I use/have used & love :)
...
John Smith is a 32pix resolution texture pack that has a nice RPG feeling to it, & the detailing is second to none. There are some extra animations added, for example, ore blocks have a shine effect, which I found to be a beautiful touch. There is currently a small range of customisation options available, & the creator has stated that extra options are likely to be added in future :) Personally I would like an extra customisation option for the wool colours, the texture itself is great, but I'd like to try some bolder colours. I also noticed that the difference between certain colours is not distinct enough, ie. light blue & dark blue look too similar. All in all this is a stunning texture pack, it's my current favourite, & I don't see myself switching any time soon :) Get it here >>> JOHN SMITH TEXTURE PACK
...
...
*** 'Gerudoku Faithful' has a similar feel to the John Smith pack, & can be found here >>> GERUDOKU FAITHFUL TEXTURE PACK. We had issues with the original version, if it doesn't work for you, try the 'blue slimes' version instead ;)
...
Faithful (32pix) is quite simply a higher resolution version of the default Minecraft textures. I played with this pack on for quite a while, & had nostalgic feelings of when I first started playing Minecraft. It's a great pack if, like me, you enjoy Minecrafts default textures, but prefer things slightly higher res :) Get it here >>> FAITHFUL TEXTURE PACK
...
...
Last Days (32pix) is a fantastic post-apocalyptic pack that gives Minecraft a completely different look & feel, it's almost as though your playing a different game entirely :p I found myself building bunkers, & racing to get indoors before nightfall (when ordinarily I'm not so bothered) This pack has a great amount of detail to it, & lots of imagination too. One particular aspect that I loved, but some people may not be so keen on, is that many items are completely different from the default, for example, your health bar appears as a radiation metre, & eating reduces your radiation level, keeping you alive. Wheat appears as orange powder that is crafted into pills that lower radiation when consumed. I found the changes to be really fun, they do take some getting used to though. Happily, after a few hours of gameplay you get the hang of things.
If you happen to be a Fallout3 fan, you'll likely love this pack. Throw on the GNR soundtrack, & you've got a blissfully addictive combination happening.
GET it here >>> LAST DAYS TEXTURE PACK
...
...
*** 'The End is Extremely Nigh', though fairly different from Last Days has a similar feel to it. It seemed as though it is not yet 100% complete, but it's worth a look. Get it here >>> THE END IS EXTREMELY NIGH TEXTURE PACK
...
Adventure Time Craft (32pix) is one of the brightest & most cartoony feeling texture packs that I know of. It is based on the popular cartoon series 'Adventure Time', & it does a wonderful job of capturing the whimsical & fun nature of the series :) This would be a great pack for kids (or just the young at heart) The only issue with this pack is that many of the single block paintings seem to be missing, & appear as a blank colour :/ It's not a huge problem, & one that I hope will be fixed in future. Get this pack here >>> ADVENTURE TIME CRAFT TEXTURE PACK
...
...
*** Another bright, cartoony texture pack is 'Jolicraft'. It's a lower resolution pack at 16pix, so it may run more smoothly than a 32pix pack. Jolicraft is beautifully detailed & was my texture pack of choice for a long while, check it out here >>> JOLICRAFT TEXTURE PACK
...
& finally Sphax PureBDCraft! This is a texture pack that many Minecrafters know & love. It is available in a range of resolutions, it's smooth, clean, & very well maintained. Sphax has a comic book feel to it, & all the textures work nicely together, it's a truly awesome pack & well worth a try. The Sphax pack also supports a number of mods, including the ever popular Tekkit (technic mod pack) :)
Why is it not my favorite texture pack? Personal taste is the answer. I do love Spahx, it was one of the earlier texture packs I played with, I just feel it's a little plain, but that's just my personal opinion, give it a try for yourself! Get it here >>> SPHAX PUREBDCRAFT TEXTURE PACK
...
...
...
There you have it! That's my current list of awesome texture packs, I hope you find it useful. Here is a page on the Minecraft forums that lists a good number of texture packs for each resolution >>> TEXTURE PACK CENTRAL, & in the 'Texture Packs' section of Planet Minecraft, you can sort texture packs by popularity, resolution, game version, etc. Check that out here >>> PLANET MINECRAFT TEXTURE PACKS.
Enjoy everyone!

New Minecraft Seed for 1.2.4 -Snowy Biome-

Playing around with some new seed generation in Minecraft yesterday & I found this one
...
generateCoolTerrainPLZ
...
It results in a pretty cool (& quite expansive) snowy biome. There is a combination of gentle slopes & mountains along with some nice (frozen) rivers & a couple of waterfalls too. On top of that this world has the most above-ground exposed coal I've ever seen. Even after collecting some wood, crafting a pick & wondering around I still managed to collected almost 30 pieces of coal on my first day with virtually no effort (probably a record for me) & there was still plenty more.
The spawn point is actually on top of a tree (which amused me) & there are mostly chickens near by. By the 2nd day I had seen pigs & cows as well, all within a fairly short distance of spawn (no sheep yet tho)
Check out some screenshots...
...

 Spawn, facing east :)
...
 There's a couple of these...
...
 Some pretty nice mountain terrain
...
 Rivers (coal) & some hills/mountains
...
& one of these [: ) (no idea how deep it is)
...
So if you're up for the challenge of living in a snowy biome, maybe give this one a try :)
Just type generateCoolTerrainPLZ in as your seed & you'll enter a snowy playground atop a tree :p
For anyone wondering I'm using Jolicraft as my texture pack, which you can download HERE, or visit the Jolicraft Website.
Have fun everyone ;)

Jolicraft + retro NES texture packs for Minecraft 1.2.4

My new favourite texture pack for minecraft 1.1 :D

It's Jolicraft! This pack has been around far quite a while I believe, but I never gave it a try because I preferred higher res texture packs. Man I've been missing out! I decided to try this pack after watching 'The Monarch of Madness'  by The Yogscast (funny guys :p) & I'm so glad I gave it a go.
This pack has the same charming feel as another one of my favourite packs (which unfortunately hasn't been updated in ages :/) I also find the colours to be really appealing, & from what I've seen so far all the blocks fit together really well stylistically. I'm especially loving the cobblestone & wool textures. Mobs & animals look awesome, & really unique too. I haven't had this excited 'wowNeedToBuildSoMuchEpicStuff LIKE.RIGHT.NOW' buzz in a while, & I'm glad I'm feeling it again :p
Something which particularly appeals to me about this pack is the unique differences, eg. saplings look like acorns, gunpowder like a stick of dynamite, etc.
There's even Christmas & Halloween themed Jolicraft packs (both of which can be found HERE)
...
So I could probably rave on for a while about how excited I am about this pack, but it's probably better to just give it a go for yourself ;p If you're put off by low-res TP's please don't let that stop you! After playing for a little while you adjust! Plus you may find Minecraft runs smoother for you, especially if your computer is a senior citizen ':)

Go now & give it a try!

-Minecraft 1.1 seed-

I'll hopefully update this with new seeds as I find them, but for now, here's the first one...
...
#1 - rainbowTrout
Generate a pretty cool world. You land on the border of a desert & plains, with a swamp right next door. There are also some awesome mountains near-by, a forest, & a pretty huge ravine too (which I haven't explored much yet) There's even a super convenient hill a stones throw from the spawn that you can burrow into for your first night :) & not too far from that there's a handy little group of pumpkins. Enjoy.

purpleOctopus -Minecraft seed- (^_^)

Tis a nice seed for version 1.0.0 of Minecraft :)
There are some cool hills & mountains, & the spawn point is near several different biomes. Also heaps of sheep, plenty of pumpkins, & caves to explore too. I'm having good fun with this one so far :D
...

...
So the seed for this one is purpleOctopus
Enjoy :)
