Some more Steam (((Cute & capable OC

I'm not sure where to go with this one, I'm happy with the line work, now I feel lost for what to do with it... maybe I just need some sleep...
I was thinking about putting it up as a Tee design on red bubble.

So here's Steam, hope you like her, she likes you.

She's ready for a good fight!

Design a TEE ((( Use text or symbols provided

So I've been looking for sites where you can design a T-shirt, unfortunately they're all limited in one way or another, this is one of the ones I liked best because you can choose exactly where you want the graphics to be on the tee & you can put designs on both the back & the front :) Also the print quality looks top notch :D
The biggest limitation with this particular site is that you cannot use your own artwork, but I think that would probably suit a lot of people anyway. There is quite a large range of symbols to use, an these guys even print in gold & silver [: P

Check it out if you're interested>>> DESIGN A TEE!

< They even do undies 'X3

I do have to note that this whole process probably isn't very eco friendly, & it gets expensive too -___- but still fun ':D

Bean Salad recipe (((So quick, so delicious! :D

One of my favorite salads, great as a side dish, snack, or even a main if you make enough.

Bean Salad

Ingredients:
- 1 can of 4 Bean mix - Rinsed & Drained
- 1 small Onion - Finely diced
- 1 Avocado - Cut into small cubes (optional)
- A dozen Cherry tomatoes - Sliced in half (optional)
- Drizzle of Balsamic vinegar
- Drizzle of Olive oil
- Drizzle of French salad dressing (optional)
- Salt & Pepper to taste

Method:
1. Empty the beans into a strainer & give them a good rinse, then let them drain for 5-10 minutes.
2. While the beans drain prep the other ingredients.
3. Once the beans are dry enough put them into a bowl & add the other prepped ingredients. Lightly drizzle over the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, & some salad dressing & give it a gentle stir.

The salad dressing adds a bit more flavour & helps cut through the sharpness of the balsamic a little.

That's it! Now you can eat! :D

A collection of drawings (((Some from uni, some I never finished

Some have these have probably never been seen by anyone but myself, until now!

I did this one for my sister Lizzy, alas I never got around to finishing it.

This was for an event , but I ran out of time.

An OC called Organz, as you can see he's a transparent bunny, the perfect pet maybe!

A collection of online sketches I did using groupboard, it's really fun, but it gets addictive, especially if there are nice people using it. You can have a go here >>> Groupboard Demo

Book recommendation: "comfort in any climate" by Michael Reynolds

So I read this book a while back & found it AMAZING, it's called "Comfort in any climate" & it's written by a fantastic guy named "Michael Reynolds". It is truly brilliant, to try to sum it up, it presents easy to understand information about how to design your house in a way which should all but eliminate the need to use heaters or air conditioners in your home, EVER. Things like passive solar design can be incorporated into the design of your home so that your house works for you & keeps you comfortable without costing you money.

I highly recommend this book to everyone, it's well worth a read. There are others from the same series, such as "Water from the sky" which is also brilliant, & I just want to quickly note that you shouldn't be put off by the fact that these books are based around Earthships (which  are incredible self-sufficient buildings invented by Mike Reynolds) the basic principles within this book, once understood can be applied to almost any building, of course material choice is always going to be important.

To the left is a pic of the cover of the book & on the right a photo of the interior of an Earthship : )

I hope you give it a look some time.

Feeling inspired [:D

Yep, after dumping a bunch of 'sustainable living' info on a blog I discovered the other day (& now love) I feel like I really need to start posting what I have learned over the years regarding self-sufficincy, sustainable lifestyles, natural building, etc etc etc, to hopefully help other people who are interested in that sort of thing, but maybe don't know where to start.

The blog I'm referring to is... The Oko Box

So that's the plan for tomorrow, but for now I must sleep -____-

...hopefully what I typed actually makes sense, I'm so damn tired... night all

Our backyard & Akira (((My white fluffy friend

Thought I'd share I recent photo I took of the back paddocks.
We live in a small place called St Andrews in Victoria, Australia.
We're hoping to buy our own place ASAP & start a self-sufficient life, but for now we rent this place, which isn't half bad!

We were just getting back from a stroll to the dam.

Strawberry BUBBLE Tea Recipe - Addictive stuff

A lovely quick recipe for a refreshing summer drink  : )

STRAWBERRY BUBBLE TEA

Ingredients:
- Approximately 1 cup of Strawberries
- 2 Teabags (regular black tea)
- 4 Ice cubes
- A few scoops of vegan coconut Ice cream
- Approx 1/2 a cup of vegan milk (I use Bonsoy)
- 1 tbs of Sugar (or other sweetener of choice)

Equipment -
* Heat safe measuring jug eg. a Pyrex, &
* A Blender

Method:
1. Boil your kettle, then in a heat safe measuring jug add 1 cup of boiling water to the 2 teabags & give them a gentle stir to release their flavour :)
2. stick the jug in the fridge for at least 10 minutes to allow the water to cool slightly & the tea to brew.
*** I usually leave mine for about half an hour. You can skip his step if need be, but your drink won't be as cold & the tea flavour may not be as well developed.
3. Once the tea has cooled, remove the teabags, squeezing them well to remove extra liquid. Top the strawberries to remove the leaves & put them into the blender, add the tea, soy milk, ice cream, ice cubes, & sugar.
***If the strawberries are fresh & clean you can leave the greens on, they won't do you any harm ; )
4. Blend for about 30 seconds, & serve!

Remember most recipes don't have to be followed perfectly, if you want to add more strawberries, do it! or try adding some vegan chocolate or mint, I think either or both would be awesome. In any case I hope people will give this one a try, it's so good (^o^)/
